Enter your date of birth. You get your exact age, the total days and weeks behind it, the weekday you were born on, and a countdown to your next birthday.
How your age is counted
Age is a count of birthdays passed. The calculator steps forward from your birth date one year at a time until the next step would pass the “age on” date, then does the same with months, and counts the days that are left. Because it follows the calendar, it never has to guess how long a month is.
Age = whole years + whole months since the last birthday + remaining days
The totals work differently. “Total days” is the plain number of days between the two dates, so it is the most precise figure. Total weeks is that number divided by 7, and total months counts calendar months.

Questions people ask
How is exact age calculated?
Count the whole years since the birth date, then the whole months since the last birthday, then the days left over. Someone born on May 15, 1990 is 36 years, 5 months and 9 days old on October 24, 2026. That is the same way birthdays and legal ages work.
I was born on February 29. When does my age go up?
In years without February 29 this calculator treats February 28 as your birthday, so you turn a year older then. Some countries’ laws use March 1 instead (England and Wales, Hong Kong and New Zealand, for example). If a legal deadline depends on it, check the rule where you live.
How many days old am I?
Enter your birth date and read the “Total days” line. It counts every day from your birth date up to today, not counting the birth day itself. The number of weeks and months is shown too.
Can I find my age on a past or future date?
Yes. Change the “Age on” date to any day, such as a retirement date or the start of a school year, and the age is recalculated for that day.
Does the time of day I was born matter?
Not for age in years, months and days. It only matters for a count in hours, and the hours figure here assumes midnight. Time zones can also put a birth on a different calendar date in another country; the calculator uses the date you enter.
