What 30 days is used for
Thirty days is the span behind many everyday deadlines: 30-day return policies, “net 30” invoice terms, free trials, and notice periods in tenancy and employment contracts. When a contract says 30 days, it almost always means calendar days, weekends included, so the deadline above is the one to diary.
Thirty days is not the same as one month. From January 31, a month later is the end of February, but 30 days later is March 2 (or March 1 in a leap year). If your document says “one month”, use the days from today calculator and choose months instead.
How the date is counted
The start date is day 0. Adding 30 days moves forward one calendar day at a time, through weekends, holidays, month ends and leap days, and the date you land on is the answer.
Answer = start date + 30 days
