What 365 days is used for
Counting 365 days usually lands on the same date next year, minus one day if the span includes February 29. That is why “one year” and “365 days” can disagree in the year before a leap day.
Annual subscriptions, memberships and warranties are normally set in years rather than days, so they renew on the same calendar date. Use 365 days when a rule is written in days.
How the date is counted
The start date is day 0. Adding 365 days moves forward one calendar day at a time, through weekends, holidays, month ends and leap days, and the date you land on is the answer.
Answer = start date + 365 days
